Improve Your Mobile Search Engine Rankings with a Mobile Design
Starting April 21, Google will start using “mobile-friendliness” as a search engine ranking factor in their algorithm. For now, this will only impact searches performed on a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone.
The goal of the update is to improve user experience with mobile search by rewarding mobile-friendly websites with better rankings. It’s unknown how big of a factor this will be in the algorithm, but just having a mobile-friendly website will not jettison you to the top of search results, as content still reigns supreme. However, it will probably crack the top 5 ranking factors for mobile search because Google is very adamant about providing the best user experience possible.
